The noise made from a faulty garage door can be irritating. It is enough to deny you a peaceful sleep, especially if the garage is located next to your bedroom. You do not need to call a professional every time this happens. The following tips will help you make the best of your homemade skills to keep the noise down.
Lubricate components

To enable the movable parts to run smoothly, you will need to lubricate your hinges, rollers, springs and tracks. You can use the 10W or 30W motor oil. That irritating noise that wakes you up comes from metallic objects rubbing each other. You do not need a pro to lubricate parts for you. Pour lubricant into an oilcan and use it to lubricate parts; if there is excess oil use a damp cloth to wipe off excess oil.
Professional maintenance

You can get a pro to install for you a belt driven garage opener instead of a chain one. While at it they can replace your noisy steel rollers with nylon ones that make less noise. If you still have space try out torsion springs instead of extension ones. Torsion springs make less noise as they are placed above the garage door repair. The garage mechanic should check whether any other item needs replacement.
Noise Insulation

You can install cylindrical rubber pieces between the motor block and slotted brace that attachés your motor to the ceiling. This rubber pieces act as noise insulators and let you enjoy a comfortable sleep. If you need this just consult with your garage mechanic, who can recommend various department stores.
Check the condition of movable items

Your rollers should move not slide. Check whether they are well lubricated, apply some oil on the chain and ensure it is well aligned. You should also tighten any loose nuts and bolts. If you are using a chain drive ensure that all parts are moving swiftly around the gears. You can use spray lubricants to lubricate the moving parts.
Rubber buffers
You can install rubber buffer pieces for your garage door and openers to reduce noise. You can do this by removing the bolts that hold the garage door. You then put a rubber buffer between the door and the bolts. Tighten the bolts, and then place a thicker rectangular rubber piece in the support frame.
Replace worn out rollers and hinges

The rollers have bearings that get destroyed after continuous use. You may notice that after several years the rollers wobble anytime you open the door. This is the time to replace them. This work may require you to hire a professional especially for torsion springs that are located above the door. The rollers at the bottom are very tense and cause injuries.

Kirk Hammett:

Kirk Hammett is an American lead guitarist and was famous for playing the lead guitar in the band Metallica. He was in a band named Exodus before joining Metallica. Kirk had formed Exodus in the year 1979, and he was about 16 at that time. Kirk became interested in music after listening to his brother’s collection of music.

Begin with open chords:

These chords are one of the basic chords which all guitarists need to know. Open chords are played with one or two stings without being fretted. You use only the first three frets of the guitar. For example in an Em chord, four open stings need to be played. Open chords are one of the easiest to learn, and once you master them, you can start to learn Barre chords. Try to memorize the shape and practice the positioning of your fingers. An open chord will provide you with a distinct sound as opposed to the other chords that have no open strings.

Learn to tune the guitar:

Once you know how to tune a guitar, you will be familiar with the various sounds produced by it. If you happen to be a beginner and if you are not sure about how each string in the guitar must sound, you can get an electric tuner and use that to tune your guitar. You can start by tuning one of the strings with the help of a tuner or a piano and then tune the rest of the strings based on the tuned string.  Once you are comfortable with the tuner, start to tune by ears.

Practicing for perfection:

Unless you practice the chords, you will not be able to master them. The positioning of your fingers is quite essential to get the right sound. Just because you are placing your fingers in the right place, it doesn’t mean that the sound the chord will be accurate. If you feel that you hear a tone that does not sound correctly, you need to make some adjustments on your fingers. Make sure that you push the tips of your fingers into the fretboard so that you do not mute the strings that are adjacent to ones you intend on playing. To quickly move your fingers on the fretboard of the guitar you can change the position of your thumb at the neck of the guitar.

You need not worry about not having proper guitar teacher. There are plenty of videos on YouTube from where you can learn many chords and strumming patterns. There are many sites which provide the chords along with the lyrics of the songs. You can use such chords and practice.
